I ended up calling Amazon and they were nice enough to send me 2 more replacement boxes (same brand and model number). I originally got 2 of them with my government vouchers, and neither worked properly (every time I powered the box down, I had to rescan the channels----basically it took 10 extra minutes of scanning every time I wanted to turn the box on). I can't tell you enough times to not purchase this product. Of these 2 boxes, only 1 worked correctly (the other box had the same channel scanning issue as the first 2 I received). I went on the Access HD website to see their return policy, and it's a nightmare. The other amazing thing is that if you call the "customer service" number, there is a specific recorded message about this particular problem, so I'm guessing I'm not the only one this happened to. So I purchased 4 Access HD 108D boxes, and 3 of them didn't work. For whatever reason, this box gets a good review from Consumer Reports, but I would advise someone looking for a better product to buy the Zinwell ZAT 970A.
Well we bought this because we thought we needed to even w/ Cable TV. When we got it and set it all up we realized that we didn't. It arrived in perfect shape and I sure would have been great had we been able to use it.
New right out of box Volume control will not control volume its on or offEmails to cust service unansured phone allways busy--JUST JUNK
didnt work had to pay $80 "deposit" to get replacement, remains to be seen if I ever get that back. Buy a different brand.
There is LOUD buzzing audio leakage into the audio whenever there is white lettering appearing on the screen. Sorry I can't identify mine as a D or U version as none of the labels the manufacturer put on the box identify the version. The Access DTA 1080 is totally unacceptable. The display for channel and menus has tiny lettering, hard to see across the room. I assume that it's the D as it's the small box. The remote does not control volume when connected for RF (channel 3 or 4), only the RCA jacks are controlled. I also have two versions of the Zenith converter which actually work as they are supposed to on exactly the same setup. Stay away from Access products.
